For the 2011 CINE Gala invitations and book, I went with a colorful retro look. I used worn vintage paper textures as opacity masks over both the vibrant gradient and off-white backgrounds to create a juxtaposition between retro and modern design elements. 2011 reads down an angled 'spine' of the invitation. The diagonal lines carry through to the inside as well. The minimal envelope carries through the off-white as the paper color and reddish magenta color in the logo and text.
