Turkey 2011 – Photos Preview
Not sure this is really much of a photos preview since I have around 30 photos below, but considering I started from over a thousand (me and my beau’s cameras combined), its safe to say its a fraction of what I’ll eventually post on Happy Spooner (which is in the process of a redesign).

Turkey 2011 – Video
Got back from a 17 vacation to Turkey yesterday morning. What an AMAZING country. We mainly divided our time between Istanbul, Selçuk, Fethiye, and Cappadocia, the last being my favorite. The video above (best viewed with sound) shows clips from our trip, organized by destination for the most part. Hopefully I’ll get a preview of pics up in the next day or so as well.

Is it odd that this video makes me want to go to Iceland even more? Quite the beautiful volcanic eruption in Grimsvotn, Iceland, shot by the Helicopter Service of Iceland.
New Work: Update to Happy Spooner
Recently updated my travel photo website – Happy Spooner – adding lots of new pictures as well as sprucing up the minimal design a bit. Still have a few more sections to finish adding photos to, but otherwise complete!
Back from Holiday
Spent the past two weeks on an amazing vacation in Peru, hence the even more lack of posting. Promise to get back in the habit soon.
Strange Signs From Abroad
Stumbled across this AMAZING article and collection of strange and funny signs from abroad. Brings back great memories of traveling in Asia when we would encounter humorous English translations on brochures, signs, and billboards. Unfortunately in Australia I never got to see the infamous ‘Merge Like a Zip’ road sign so many fellow travelers told me about. A few examples from The New York Times article are posted below, but definitely check out all 176 of them at Strange Signs From Abroad!

Horizon 202 Panorma – Vegas
As promised in an earlier post this week, some photos with my Horizon 202 camera from a trip to Vegas last year. The Bellagio fountain was a fun shot to take because the time lapse of the shutter speed (set to around 2 sec) caused the water to be at different heights due to the timing. Additionally, you’ll notice in a few of the pics the curved horizon or ‘bend’ of objects due to the swinging lens. I’ll post pics from DC and Italy from my Horizon in the future as well. (I apologize for the not so great scanning job of the film, hence the debri, and the lack of tripod at the time.)

Back from Mexico!
Got into JFK last night after a great trip to Mexcio, now heading back to DC on the Bolt Bus. Spent 8 days in Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula with mi hermano Bob and mi amigo Matt. We divided our time between Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Mahahual; the latter being my favorite. Take a look at some pics from trip posted below!
