QMilch – Fabric Made from Milk
Anke Domaske, a German fashion designer and microbiologist, has created fabric out of milk protein. Sounds too good to be true as the fabric, called QMilch, feels like silk, washes normally, water-efficient to produce, and hypoallergenic.
Nuue by Jungeun Lee
I discovered Nuue by Jungeun Lee while exploring the Royal College of Art website and immediately fell in the love with the project. Lee transforms wound fibre into fabric via a heating process with pressure. She begins by wrapping the fibre around the desired silhouette, such as a custom wooden mannequin shown above and below. Following the heating stage Lee completes the process by removing the garment and proceeding with any necessary pattern cutting or sawing to refine the piece. Overall there is no or minimal waste.
Proenza Schouler by Jak & Jil
Not only do I love the Fall/Winter 2011 collection of Proenza Schouler, but the backstage photos by Jak & Jil give an excellent incite into the fascinating textures of the fabrics. View more photos below.

Central Saint Martin’s MA graduate in Fashion Knitwear, Shao Yen Chen, has shown two remarkable collections this past year. The first, ‘Waver’ in which colors and sex appeal were kept to a minimum, letting texture and silhouette take the stage. He used white nylon thread backed onto cashmere and lycra to create soft architectural volumes that are ethereal and graceful. In his second collection ‘Skin’ he introduces leather and color as added dimensions, maintaining their delicateness but making the clothes more playful.

Lack of Posts
Apology for the lack of posts, spent the past 10 days in a mini charrette sewing my boyfriend and I’s Halloween costumes. Unfortunately didn’t win the contest we entered but the costume results were well worth the effort! Normal posting schedule will return soon.
Intimacy Dress
The Intimacy dress by Daan Roosegaarde, fashion designer Maartje Dijkstra and V2 uniquely plays together social interaction and fashion by becoming transparent with the presence of other people. I highly recommend checking out the links of all involved in the project.

Intimacy is a fashion project about the relation between intimacy and technology. Its high-tech garments ‘Intimacy White’ and ‘Intimacy Black’ are made out of interactive technologies and smart e-foils which become transparent based on personal interactions.
Here social interactions determine the level of transparency; creating a sensual play of disclosure.
Gray Bearded Stocking Hat
Genius. The gray bearded stocking hat will most definitely be a Christmas gift for my boyfriend, who is on the light side of the facial hair spectrum. =)

Acid Girls
Acid Girls – Lightworks from IHEARTCOMIX Records on Vimeo.
Stumbled across this video over at Susie Bubble and loved the forward and rewind editing. Nicely shot and styled with a perfect blend of historical and contemporary, and don’t forget the amazingly fun looking food fight.
Crayon & Concrete Rings
Loving the juxtaposition of crayon and concrete rings – a battle between temporary and permanent. One bringing out my inner child screaming for me to color the walls, while the other makes concrete and stainless steel so beautifully fashionable.
